Photo of unrestored gravstone
The gravestone of J. Marion More, one of the early leaders in the Boise Basin community after gold was discovered in 1862. His gravestone was in this condition in 1987 prior to being restored by the Idaho City Historical Foundation. The Foundation has restored many other historic gravestones and wrought iron enclosures in the Idaho City Pioneer Cemetery. Two of the wooden enclosure has been rebuilt in the original style as examples. Other wooden enclosures remain in a partially deteriorated condition to preserve their authenticity.
